ACCP Level II Examinations

Multi-part Examination

Successful ACCP Level II certification candidates must complete the following four examinations:

General Examination
The multiple choice Level II general exam covers the basics within a method as listed in SNT-TC-1A, latest edition. The general exam is the same for all sectors for any one method.

Specific Examination
The specific exam determines the certification sector. ASNT currently offers a specific examination for the General Inspection and Pressure Equipment sectors. This exam is also multiple choice.

Instruction Preparation Examination
In the instruction prep exam, candidates prepare NDT instructions to meet the requirements of a supplied code.

Practical Examination
The practical exam determines the certification technique. Candidates can choose one or several techniques within each method.

The table below lists each examination now available under the ACCP Level II certification program. For certification in any method, candidates must successfully complete each of the three written examinations and at least one of the practical examinations. For Transitioners and 10-year renewals, candidates must test one (1) part per Technique with a minimum of two (2) parts per Test Method.

Exam Scheduling

All of the ACCP Level II examinations may be taken at any of ASNT's Authorized Examination Centers. See the ASNT Exam Partners page for a list of AECs in the US and around the world.

Examination Results

Personnel that fail an examination will be sent an analysis sheet showing the percentage of questions missed in each major category of the Body of Knowledge for that examination. Personnel that successfully complete all qualification examinations will be sent an ACCP Level II wall certificate and wallet card showing the applicable test methods and techniques but will not receive an analysis sheet.
