Level III Examinations

Basic and Method Exams

ASNT NDT Level III certification candidates are required to pass both the NDT Basic and a method examination in order to receive the ASNT NDT Level III certificate.

ASNT PdM Level III certification candidates are required to pass both the PdM Basic and either the IR or VA method examination in order to receive the ASNT PdM Level III certificate.

Personnel currently holding valid ASNT NDT Level III certifications in VA or IR may apply to take the PdM Basic examination, and upon successful completion, will be issued a PdM Level III certificate for the applicable test methods. Conversely, PdM certificate holders may take the NDT Basic examination to attain NDT Level III status in the vibration analysis or infrared test methods.
