Safety Tips

Tips for a safe stay in conference cities:

  • Be aware and alert to your surroundings.
  • Walk in the open or near the curb, do not walk close to buildings or cars. Stay on the main thoroughfares and in well-lit areas.
  • Remove your meeting badge when you are outside of the hotels and Convention Center; do not wear fancy jewelry in plain sight.
  • Carry your purse or brief case close to your body.
  • Do not leave valuables in your hotel room; get a hotel safe deposit box.
  • Travel in groups. Do not be a loner, particularly in the evening.
  • Abide by common sense: If something looks suspicious, report it to the local authorities and/or avoid it.
