About the Lou Di Valerio Technician of the Year award

The Lou DiValerio Technician of the Year Award gives recognition to ASNT members who are deserving technicians, encouraging their continued participation in the Society. Nominees for the award must hold a position of employment that corresponds to general guidelines similar to those described by Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A for defining the primary duties and responsibilities of Level I and Level II technicians. The award recipient is an individual who has distinguished himself or herself by showing exceptional merit either as an NDT technician or through service to the Society.

Nominations for the award are made jointly by the technician's employer and the local sponsoring section and must include supporting documentation attesting to the fact that the nominee is a practicing NDT technician. A nominee's application is evaluated by the Technician of the Year Award Subcommittee and approved by the Section Operations Council Awards Division. Presentation of the award is made at the Fall Conference.

Congratulations to Mohammed Abu Four, winner of the 2006 Lou Di Valerio Technician of the Year Award.
