Lester Honor Lecture and
Mehl Honor Lecture
The Lester Honor Lecture is presented during even numbered
years in memory of Horace H. Lester, senior physicist at the Watertown
Arsenal in Watertown, Massachusetts. Lester was an outstanding contributor
to the field of NDT. He published numerous articles, fostered techniques
and did seminal work as chair of ASTM Committee E07. In his honor, the
Board of Directors of the Society selects an outstanding person to lecture
on a subject with direct bearing on the use of NDT and its application
to materials evaluation. The lecture is presented at the ASNT Fall Conference.
ASNT established the Mehl Honor Lecture in honor of the
outstanding research in the field of gamma radiography and countless
other contributions by Robert F. Mehl. This honor is presented every
odd numbered year by the Board of Directors to outstanding persons in
the field of NDT. The lecture is traditionally presented during the
ASNT Fall Conference.
