Friday 25 July 2008, Take a Camera to Work.

Remember the day in August 2006 when we had the first 24 Hours in NDT? ASNT members were asked to imagine in a single day all the possible types of NDT activities that were happening and to record that day in photographs. Members took cameras to work, shot pictures to start telling the story of NDT in pictures. But the story is not complete.

How many industries and types of applications of methods are in use around the world? In how many places is pipeline being inspected? Are new airplanes being manufactured? Is a high rise building constructed? Is a 60 year old suspension bridge being tested? Is a new racing wheel being manufactured? Are aging aircraft being inspected? Is research on acoustic emission evaluation of concrete culverts being pursued? What type of NDT do you do at work every day? ASNT wants to see your NDT story in photographs.

On Friday 25 July 2008, take a camera to work and shoot some snapshots. Don’t take pictures of just the equipment you use. We want to see you, our members, and people you work with in action. Over the course of one 24 hour period, imagine the range of NDT work that is taking place.

Help ASNT to tell the NDT story in photographs. Take a camera to work and shoot some snapshots.

One extra bit of business. For ASNT to be able to use your photos, you’ll need to submit a signed photo release form giving ASNT the right to use them. Download the Marketing Communications Photography Release Form. For each photo, identify the people in the photo and explain what is happening. Please sign off and send your digital files* or prints to Paul Conley at ASNT by 7 August. You can also mail photos to ASNT, attention Paul Conley, 1711 Arlingate Lane, Columbus Ohio, 43228.

Can you imagine the story these photos can tell? Of course it won’t be complete without yours.

24 Hours in NDT is Friday 25 July 2008. Take your camera to work.

Questions about this special event? Contact ASNT’s Marketing Department at 614.274.6003 or by email 24HRSNDT@asnt.org.

Don’t let the story be incomplete. Be a part of the action – 24 Hours in NDT.

*Digital files should be high resolution TIFF or JPEG files. Please be sure they are at least 5 x 7 inches at 300 dpi. This can be accomplished by changing your camera resolution setting to "fine" or "superfine" and the image size to "large".
