How to Set Up a Web Site
for Your Local ASNT Section

ASNT encourages its local Sections to create their own Web sites, provided they have the ability to maintain up-to-date content. This how-to guide provides graphics, templates, valuable Internet sites and many other resources for local Section webmasters.

HTML Basics: a beginner's guide to HTML, the basic authoring language used to create documents on the World Wide Web. Includes a discussion of the software needed to edit HTML.

Internet Domain Names: you'll need a Web site address — here's how to register it.

Web Hosting: where to put your Web site, how to find a host, what services to expect from a Web host.

Content: some recommendations for types of content to include in your site's pages.

Page Template: download an HTML page template. You fill in the particulars for your Section.

Download the ASNT Logo: to display on your Web pages.

Links to Additional Resources: some sites on the Web that may help you in creating a basic Section Web site.

If you are new to the idea of building a Web site, click here to see what other ASNT Sections are doing. We hope the resources provided in this guide will also be a help. Contact the ASNT webmaster with questions about your local Section's new Web site:
