COLUMBUS, OH— The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is proud to be an Official Partner of the 4th USA Science & Engineering Festival, to be held 16-17 April 2016 in Washington, D.C.
“The USA Science & Engineering Festival is a tremendous opportunity to share the excitement of nondestructive testing (NDT) with the next generation," ASNT Executive Director Arny Bereson commented. “This year, ASNT celebrates 75 years of creating a safer world and we want students, their parents, and teachers to see not only the impact of nondestructive testing, but also see themselves doing it as a career.”
ASNT is the world’s largest technical society dedicated for NDT – the inspection, testing, or evaluating of materials, components, or assemblies for differences in characteristics without destroying or degrading their integrity. NDT is used every day around the world in the infrastructures that keep everyone safe including, airplanes, bridges, cars, pipelines, space shuttles and construction.
ASNT will bring hands-on NDT activities and simulations for all ages to the more than 350,000 K-12 students and parents and over 5,000 teachers at the Festival along with other world leading scientific and engineering organizations. This event is perfect for teens, children and their families, and anyone with a curious mind who is looking for a weekend of fun and discovery.
