COLUMBUS, OH - The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is closely following the investigation into the August 1st natural gas explosion in Junction City, KY. As the leading professional society for nondestructive testing (NDT) professionals, ASNT is deeply vested in the investigation’s outcome.
“Loss of life is tragic under any circumstance. When systems upon which we all rely such as the natural gas pipelines running through our city cause this level of structure, ASNT is deeply vested in the outcome of any investigation and subsequent repairing and rebuilding,” Neal Couture, ASNT Executive Director said in response to the incident.
Couture continued, “ASNT does not add to speculation in times like these. The most effective way we can help is to rally inspection experts to shed light on inspection techniques and critical markers that may indicate causes for concern. ASNT has a network of seasoned pipeline inspection professionals that are able to respond to inquiries.”
As new developments emerge, ASNT will stay connected and avail expert resources for general understanding and industry overviews.
