ASNT celebrates the exciting transitions of two distinguished ASNT members—Marybeth Miceli’s selection as the new Executive Director at Nondestructive Testing Management Association (NDTMA) and the retirement of NDTMA leader George Moran, who spent 28 years in the role, managing the association’s operations.
ASNT Executive Director Neal Couture remarked on the announcement. “Within this, my first year as ASNT’s Executive Director, I have heard nothing but effusive comments regarding George’s tenure at NDTMA. I wish him well as he enjoys the hopefully easy days of retirement ahead. I’ve personally seen Marybeth’s commitment to NDT and look forward to her continued achievement in this new position and deepening ASNT’s relationship with NDTMA.”
This new role adds to Miceli’s already impressive resume of NDT industry leadership and accolades. Over her more than 20 years as an ASNT membership she has served two three-year terms on the ASNT Board of Directors, participates in several ASNT councils and committees, and is currently chairing the Women in NDT Committee. Miceli is a Lifetime Member and Fellow of ASNT (class of 2011) and the recipient of several ASNT awards including the Young NDT Professional Award (2004), Mentoring Award (2011), Charles N. Sherlock Meritorious Service Award (2016), and the Advancement of Women in NDT Recognition (2020). Miceli is the host of the ASNT webinar series Management of NDT.
“I look forward to building on the strong foundation that George Moran and his wife Barbara have created over their many years of service along with NDTMA’s incredible volunteer leadership. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be able to step into this role and help continue the organization’s mission of increasing the prosperity of its member companies and the NDT industry as a whole,” Miceli commented.
Moran is a Lifetime Member and Past President of ASNT. He also worked at the ASNT International Service Center in the capacity of ACCP Project Manager. During his career in NDT, Moran formed an in-house NDT group while working at Public Service Electric & Gas Company in New Jersey. He is an ASNT Fellow (class of 1993) and recipient of the Robert C. McMaster Gold Medal (2000).
NDTMA welcomes Miceli as its Executive Director on 1 July 2020.
