27th Research Symposium 2018

The theme for 2018 Research Symposium is “Advancing NDE Technologies, Research and Engineering in a Changing World.” This year’s theme aims to address key research, development and innovation of advancing NDE technologies and bridge gaps in NDE research, engineering and technology transfer. This year the symposium will include presentations of technical papers in innovative NDE research and development areas such as:

  • Advanced/Emerging NDE Methods
  • Automation/Robotics in NDE
  • NDE Materials Characterization
  • NDE Engineering
  • NDE for Additive Manufacturing
  • NDE for Aerospace/Composites
  • NDE for Civil Infrastructure
  • NDE for Railroads
  • NDE Modeling and Simulation
  • Passive Wireless Sensors
  • Radiography
  • NDE Reliability
  • Structural Health Monitoring (Detection, Diagnosis and Prognosis)
  • Thermal NDE Methods
  • Ultrasonics

Continuing with the success of the short course offered in 2017, we will continue to offer short courses on Monday, March 26, 2018. If you have an interest in submitting a proposal for a Short Course, please contact the ASNT Conference Department at conferences@asnt.org.

Submission Deadline: October 15, 2017

Submit a 250-word abstract. Abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee of the ASNT 27th Research Symposium and will be accordingly scheduled in the program. Accepted speakers will be notified via email in mid-December 2017. Upon acceptance, additional instructions will be emailed to the presenting author.

Speakers will prepare a 20-minute presentation. ASNT discourages excessive use of trade names, company identifications or product names in oral and visual presentations, including abstracts and published papers. Questions concerning abstracts should be directed to the ASNT conference department at conferences@asnt.org.

Symposium Proceedings

Speakers are also encouraged to prepare and submit a paper (up to 10 pages) related to their presentation for publication in the post-Symposium, reviewed ASNT Research Symposium Proceedings. Instructions on paper submission will be provided in the abstract acceptance email.
