Annual UT Competition

The ASNT UT Competition will take place on 24 October and will assess UT skills for two sets of competitors: NDT UT Level IIs (limited to 5 competitors) and NDT UT Level IIIs (limited to 5 competitors). The application submission deadline is 25 September 2023. Cash prizes of $1000.00 and $500.00 will be given to first and second-place winners.

In collaboration with Amazon Studios, NASA is helping chronicle the life and career of retired NASA astronaut Jose Hernandez through an upcoming film. “A Million Miles Away,” starring Michael Peña, tells the story of Hernandez’ journey from migrant farmer to NASA space explorer. [read: 1 min]

Introduction to Thermal 

and Infrared Testing

The first chapter of the Nondestructive Testing Handbook, Fourth Edition: Volume 4: Thermal and Infrared Testing (IR) is currently available as a free download for ASNT members. This chapter provides an overview of the nondestructive testing methods and an introduction and history of IR. This offer expires on 31 October 2023.
