ASNT Submits Bid to Host 2024 World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing

3 March 2016

The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) has submitted a bid to the International Committee for Non-Destructive Testing (ICNDT) to host the 2024 World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (WCNDT).

ASNT notes that the full weight of the Society will be critical to this undertaking, from the experienced conference services and marketing teams to the vast network of talented and dedicated volunteers. This event, however, will be a collaborative creation.

“Our vision for this event incorporates participation from societies, organizations, and industry partners that encompass the entirety of the international NDT community,” remarked ASNT Executive Director Dr. Arny Bereson. “This partnership extends to other standards and technical organizations in order to offer unparalleled value to the WCNDT attendee.”

This collaborative effort is intended to showcase and demonstrate the valuable contributions to the NDT industry from the American continents. “Should we earn the bid,” noted Bereson, “we will actively seek the inclusion and participation of our sister societies spanning North, Central, and South America to demonstrate our unified dedication to the flourishing prosperity of NDT in the Americas.”

The bid proposes hosting the event in Miami, Florida, a major metropolitan city with rich cultural diversity and a central hub for international flights. The proposal also recommends hosting WCNDT 2024 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, a world-class event space with 500,000 square feet of exhibit space, 125,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and a 60,000 square foot ballroom.

The ICNDT Board will choose the host of WCNDT 2024 during its meeting at the 2016 World Conference in Munich, Germany on 13-16 June 2016.

The American Society for Nondestructive Testing, Inc., based in Columbus, Ohio, is an international technical society with over 16,000 members that provides a forum for exchange of NDT technical information; NDT educational materials and programs; and standards and services for the qualification and certification of NDT personnel.
