ASNT Establishes Council of Fellows: Harnessing the Expertise of Our Most Accomplished Members

(Columbus, Ohio) The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) proudly announces the establishment of the ASNT Council of Fellows, following formal approval by the ASNT Board of Directors. This new initiative reinforces ASNT’s commitment to advancing the science and practice of nondestructive testing (NDT) through the collective insight and leadership of ASNT’s most accomplished members.

The Council of Fellows comprises individuals whose leadership, expertise, and long-standing commitment to the profession have helped shape the NDT field. The Council will provide guidance to the Board of Directors and executive leadership, offering a wealth of knowledge to inform decisions on emerging trends, major initiatives, and long-term priorities. Their insight will be instrumental in advancing ASNT’s mission and ensuring the organization remains forward-looking and responsive to the evolving needs of the industry.

In addition to their advisory role, Council members will actively contribute across a range of key initiatives that drive ASNT’s strategic goals. They will mentor and coach early-career professionals, contribute to technical committees and standards development, and help expand ASNT’s global presence by representing the Society in international forums and industry events. As authors, speakers, moderators, and innovation advisors, the Fellows will elevate ASNT’s voice, enrich its intellectual capital, and support its programs and outreach growth.

“With the Council of Fellows, we’re unlocking the full potential of ASNT’s legacy to shape the future of nondestructive testing,” said Neal Couture, ASNT CEO. “This distinguished group brings unmatched experience and dedication that will guide the Society’s progress and inspire the next generation of NDT professionals.”

ASNT Board President Clyde May added, “This Council not only honors the careers and contributions of our most respected members, but it also ensures that their voices continue to shape our industry. It is an inspiring alignment of tradition and vision.”

The Council of Fellows underscores ASNT’s ongoing dedication to excellence, community, and leadership in NDT.
