ASNT Education

Go to education.asnt.org, our education portal. Sign in with your MyASNT account to get to your courses and webinars. You don’t need to be an ASNT member to have an account, and if you’re new, you can register for a MyASNT account in a few minutes. Once you’re signed in, everything you’ve registered for is waiting on your dashboard, with no separate username or password.

After you register, you’ll get a confirmation email with a join link and an option to add the event to your calendar. On the day of your course, go to your dashboard on the ASNT education catalog, select the course you registered for, and join from there.

You’ll need to repurchase the course to regain access.

Contact hours are the total run time of the course plus three minutes for each quiz or exam question. Your actual completion time will vary. If a course offers fewer contact hours than a standard requires, you’ll need additional hands-on training to make up the difference.

Courses are built so sections can’t be skipped. Content is locked, and videos don’t display a timeline, so you can’t fast-forward. A quiz follows each section to check your understanding, and you need to pass each one to move forward. If you don’t pass, you’ll review the section in full and then retake the quiz with randomized but related questions. Once you pass, you’ll receive a certificate of satisfactory completion.

That depends on who owns the course. ASNT-owned courses allow unlimited attempts. Courses delivered through a partner organization allow three attempts, and you’ll need to repurchase the course to try again after that. Partner course listings include this note: “ASNT partners with [Partner Name] to deliver this course. Enrollment is completed through ASNT’s learning management system, while coursework takes place on [Partner Name]’s learning platform.”

No. Course purchases are non-transferable under ASNT policy.

We recommend the latest version of Google Chrome. Other browsers may not display course content correctly. Course content and quizzes can open in a new window, so make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off.

Prices vary by course and event. Paid ASNT members receive discounted pricing on courses and free access to previous webinars.

Free membership is available too, but discounts and webinar benefits are reserved for paid membership.

You can request a refund up to two business days after purchase, as long as you haven’t started the course. Once a course has started, we can’t process a refund.

To cancel or transfer, send written notice to education@asnt.org by the cancellation deadline, which is four weeks before the first day of class. You’ll receive a credit for your registration fee, minus a $100-per-class fee. Transferring to another session also carries a $100 fee. Cancellations and transfers aren’t permitted within 14 calendar days of the start of class.

Each course listing in the catalog also notes whether it’s eligible for Level III recertification points.

Each eligible course or webinar carries a credit value for contact hours and, for Level III certificate holders, certification renewal points. Submit your certificate to your certifying body so they can convert it into contact hours. To record recertification points in MyASNT, use the “Update Your MyASNT Record with Recert Points” link included with each qualifying course or webinar. Answer the short assessment question confirming you’d like the points added, and they’ll upload to your account automatically. Keep in mind that attendance credit for videos within an event or course varies, and some videos are informational only and don’t count toward attendance or completion.

Completion data uploads to MyCert on the first Tuesday of every month. Your transcript can take up to 48 hours after that to update.

Yes. Every method requires hands-on training, though the number of hours varies by method. ASNT doesn’t facilitate or coordinate hands-on training. Most learners arrange it through their employer under a Level III’s supervision.

Once you’ve met the requirements, we’ll email your certificate to you. You can also find it anytime on your dashboard in the ASNT education catalog. Select the course, then select Certificate. Your certificate shows your name, the event title, the date of attendance or completion, and the contact hours earned. Contact hours appear once all certificate requirements are complete.

Yes. A short survey about the course or event, such as a webinar, is required for an attendance or completion certificate.

You need to attend at least 90 percent of the scheduled course time. In a 40-hour course, for example, you can miss no more than 4 hours total. Learners below 90 percent attendance won’t receive a certificate of completion.
