ME Transitioning to Digital-First Delivery
Starting in 2025, ASNT is moving to a digital-first membership model. As part of this change, Materials Evaluation will no longer be printed and mailed to all members each month. The final automatically mailed issue will be August 2025.
This change helps ASNT keep membership dues affordable as printing and postage costs rise, as well as reduce our environmental impact.
We’re also enhancing your digital experience with a new way to explore Materials Evaluation content online, launching later in 2025.
ASNT offers discounted group pricing on many of our online NDT courses, as well as the option to arrange customized in-person training delivered at your facility.
Designed for today’s working technicians, this course provides the tools and insight needed to uphold professional standards and earn trust on every job. Whether you're leading a team or navigating complex projects, you'll gain skills to:
Understand how ethics, morals, and values influence behavior
Explore the role of ethics and reputation in the NDT industry, and understand the risks of unethical conduct
Recognize practical ways to implement ethical behavior on the job

A new year is a natural time to think about your career direction — including whether self-employment or 1099 work might be part of your future. This session gives NDT professionals a clear, realistic look at what independent work truly involves.
Drawing on 26 years of self-employment, Michael V. McGloin will walk through a fuller, more honest pros-and-cons list: the benefits that attract many technicians, and the challenges that often catch people by surprise. You’ll learn what to expect as a contractor or business owner, how to reduce your taxes, and what to consider when planning for retirement.
Michael brings deep industry experience, including fieldwork, aerospace projects, seven ASNT Level III certifications, and extensive leadership within ASNT. His insights will help you decide whether self-employment is a path to pursue in the year ahead.
Certain ASNT courses offer NDT Level III recertification points or IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs), recognizing your ongoing learning and helping maintain certifications and stay competitive in the field.
