Ekoscan Integrity Group to Buy Carestream’s US NDT Digital Radiography Business

Ekoscan Integrity Group (EIG) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the US-based NDT Digital business of Carestream Health Inc., the two companies announced on 25 August. The business covers computed radiography (CR) and digital radiography (DR). The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The purchase would add radiographic imaging to EIG’s existing ultrasound and eddy current lines, giving the France-based group and its subsidiaries a portfolio spanning the major nondestructive testing (NDT) methods.

Carestream’s NDT Digital business sells industrial radiographic imaging products under the INDUSTREX brand, including CR systems, DR detectors, and imaging software. It operates from Rochester, New York, with a US commercial, applications, and service organization, and serves aerospace and defense, oil and gas, power generation, and other industrial inspection markets.

According to the companies, customers will continue working with their existing sales and service contacts through the transition, and customer agreements, purchase orders, warranties, and service commitments will remain in place. EIG and Carestream have also entered a long-term commercial partnership intended to maintain support for Carestream’s NDT Film business in the US and continuity across the INDUSTREX portfolio.

Until the deal closes, the NDT Digital business continues to operate within Carestream, and the two companies remain independent.

“We advance technologies for NDT and repair: the integrity of critical industrial assets is our mission,” said Hugo Cence, founder and CEO of EIG. “Adding Carestream’s NDT DR business, its INDUSTREX digital radiography portfolio, its experienced US team, and its Rochester operations makes EIG a global multimethod inspection leader. We are acquiring this business to grow it.”

Todd Clegg, CEO of Carestream Health, spoke positively of the change, for customers and employees at both organizations.

“This transaction positions our NDT Digital business for continued growth under an owner fully dedicated to industrial inspection, while enabling Carestream to sharpen its focus on healthcare imaging and invest further in innovation, customer service, and long-term growth,” Clegg said.

EIG, headquartered in Châtenoy-le-Royal, France, operates three business units: Ekoscan (NDT), Intact (operations), and 3X Engineering (repair).
