Topical Conferences for 2026
The 2026 events season for the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is set to deliver another dynamic year of connection, innovation, and professional growth. Throughout the year, ASNT brings together nondestructive testing (NDT) professionals from around the world to advance industry knowledge, strengthen global collaboration, and provide impactful educational experiences. These events create meaningful opportunities to learn from experts, exchange ideas, highlight achievements, and build lasting relationships with academic and industry leaders within the NDT community. Asia Pacific Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (APCNDT)
Held under the theme “Breaking Barriers: NDT Solutions for a Changing World—Innovate, Adapt, Transform,” the 17th Asia Pacific Conference on Non-Destructive Testing (APCNDT) will showcase the latest innovations and emerging technologies redefining NDT. Attendees will connect with global experts, share knowledge, and explore new solutions to address the evolving challenges faced by industries worldwide.
This year’s conference will take place 11–15 May in Honolulu, Hawaii. Keynote speakers include Makoto Ochiai, Director of Toshiba Corp.’s Corporate Laboratory; Roman Maev, professor at the University of Windsor (Ontario) and founding President and CEO of Tessonics Group; and ASNT CEO Neal Couture. Attendees can expect an exhibit hall, technical presentations, workshops, and breakout and panel sessions. Main conference programming runs Tuesday through Thursday, with workshops and tours available Monday and Friday.
A welcome reception is scheduled Monday evening, with a networking event Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday, attendees will gather for an evening luau (included with registration; guests may attend for an additional fee). Hosted at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort—the oceanfront home of APCNDT—this immersive celebration brings island traditions to life with vibrant Polynesian performances, live music, an exhilarating fire-knife finale, and a buffet of classic Hawaiian favorites served in a relaxed, tropical setting.
Honolulu, Hawaii
The area around the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort makes it easy to experience the best of Waikiki during the week of APCNDT. Hilton Hawaiian Village, set on the widest stretch of Waikiki Beach, feels like its own seaside neighborhood, with gardens, open-air walkways, and multiple towers overlooking the ocean or lagoon.
Just outside the Hilton, Waikiki offers an excellent range of walkable dining options. Monkeypod Kitchen at the Outrigger Reef is known for its lively atmosphere and craft cocktails, while Roy’s Waikiki blends Hawaiian flavors with Asian influences in a polished but comfortable setting. For something more casual, Steak Shack near Fort DeRussy serves generous plate lunches right by the beach, and Paia Fish Market Waikiki is a go-to for fresh, simply prepared seafood.
The surrounding area also features several landmarks and easy excursions. A short walk brings you to Fort DeRussy Beach Park. About a 10-minute drive away, Diamond Head State Monument offers a moderately challenging hike with sweeping coastal views, while Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial provide a meaningful half-day historical visit.
Beyond the beaches of Waikiki, Oahu’s landscape shifts quickly into lush valleys, volcanic ridgelines, and dramatic coastal cliffs. Just 20 minutes from the Hilton, the Manoa Falls Trail winds through a rainforest to a 150 ft waterfall, while the Makapuu Lighthouse Trail on the island’s southeastern tip offers sweeping views of lava-sculpted shoreline.
ASNT Volunteer Leadership Summit
The ASNT Volunteer Leadership Summit—taking place 29–31 May in Savannah, Georgia—brings together section leaders, council members, and committee volunteers for an in-person experience focused on collaboration, shared learning, and meaningful connection.
Attendees will gain:
Stronger connections with fellow volunteers and ASNT staff
Shared strategies and practical tools to support volunteer success
Clearer alignment on goals, priorities, and next steps
Time to collaborate, plan, and contribute feedback that shapes future work
Savannah, Georgia
Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Midtown provides a convenient and comfortable home base for the ASNT Volunteer Leadership Summit. Located along Abercorn Street, it’s about 15 minutes from Savannah’s Historic District and a short drive from Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus, where summit sessions will be held at the Student Union.
If time allows, Savannah’s Historic District is well worth the short drive. River Street’s cobblestone waterfront, City Market, and Broughton Street offer dining, shopping, and galleries in a compact, walkable setting. Forsyth Park—especially beautiful in late spring—is ideal for a morning or evening stroll.
2026 Research Symposium
The next ASNT Research Symposium will be held 20–24 July in Salt Lake City, Utah. This symposium is the leading forum for nondestructive evaluation (NDE) professionals to explore the latest advancements, share discoveries, and connect with experts who are pushing nondestructive testing forward.
This year’s theme, “Collaboration: Connecting Minds, Advancing Possibilities,” captures both the spirit of the symposium and the future of NDE. Attendees can expect technical presentations, interactive poster sessions, and conversations that go beyond the podium to focus on real challenges, real opportunities, and the collective work of shaping what’s next.
MFPT Annual Conference
The Machine Failure Protection Technology (MFPT) Annual Conference takes place alongside the ASNT Research Symposium in Salt Lake City, bringing two complementary events together at one location. Attendees may attend sessions from both programs.
MFPT gathers industry professionals, researchers, and innovators focused on improving system reliability through diagnostics, prognostics, and failure prevention. The conference features:
Presentations from practitioners, engineers, and researchers focusing on diagnostics, prognostics, and failure prevention through case studies and applied examples.
Moderated panels and open discussions that bring together diverse perspectives to examine challenges, trends, and decision-making across the machinery reliability community.
Hands-on demonstrations and focused sessions highlighting tools, techniques, and technologies used to monitor machine health and support failure-prevention efforts.
Salt Lake City, Utah
The Radisson Hotel Salt Lake City Downtown is the host hotel for both the ASNT Research Symposium and the MFPT Conference, placing attendees in the center of the city’s walkable core. Located just steps from Temple Square and a short walk from the TRAX light rail line, the hotel offers easy access to restaurants, cultural sites, and mountain views.
Outdoor access is one of Salt Lake City’s defining features. Within 30–40 minutes, you can reach Big Cottonwood Canyon or Millcreek Canyon for scenic drives, hiking trails, and cooler mountain air. Ensign Peak, just north of downtown, offers a short but rewarding hike with sweeping views—an ideal early morning option before conference sessions.
